Day One

Well, this is it. No turning back now. Today is the first day of my new job. I've traded in the benefits of working for corporate America and have decided to get my feet wet in a start-up company of sorts.

I chatted with my new boss today and she made it clear that I need to be willing to get my hands dirty. That long hours are inevitable and grueling tasks are around every corner. Oh, and that I need to be willing to take a pay cut. A HUGE pay cut.

Meet the CEO of our young company: Lady O.

Dressed in pearls and a matching handbag, this is one no-nonsense broad. She's a lady that knows what she wants, when she wants it -- and you're going to hear about it every step of the way. Luckily, she's assured me that a plethora of on-the-job training will be made available to me as I make the transition from corporate world to the way of the cradle.

Phew.
